Tips for National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month, reminding the public to be prepared for emergencies and natural disasters. Living in Florida comes with many advantages. However, Florida residents are also at an increased risk of severe weather and hurricanes. We encourage you and your family to take this month to be proactive with all your disaster plans. In honor of National Preparedness Month, Edison Insurance would like to provide you with the following emergency preparedness tips:

  • Sign up for your local emergency alerts.

  • Create and practice all your emergency plans with your family. Should you need assistance with creating an emergency plan for your family or business, visit floridadisaster.org.

  • Take time to review your insurance policies. If you have questions about your coverages, or to make any changes to your policy, contact your agent.

Remember, September is also the statistical peak of hurricane season. As we have seen over the past few hurricane seasons, it is essential you take time to prepare your family and home well in advance of a storm.
